As a result of the RA Selection Policy review in 2015, the Selection Ombudsman role was introduced in 2016 to be the official observer, advisor and mediator at National Selection Trials. John Boultbee has been appointed as Selection Ombudsman for the 2017 Underage Selection Trials.

John brings a wealth of rowing knowledge and experience to the role. A lawyer by profession, he has been a Judge of the Court of Arbitration for Sport and sat on the FISA Doping Tribunal. John was the fifth Director of the AIS from 1995 – 2001 and was a Rowing Australia Director from 2007 – 2015.

John will be in attendance at the Underage Trials and will be contactable for athletes and coaches at all times throughout the trialling process. Contact details will be forwarded to those athletes and coaches in due course.
