TEMPUR® Australia is an official sponsor of Rowing Australia and the Australian Rowing Team in 2016 and the team’s official sleep and travel product partner.
Earlier this year Rowing Australia and the Australian Rowing Team announced an exciting new partnership with TEMPUR® Australia.
A significant component of this important partnership for rowing was the provision of a TEMPUR® Car Comforter and a TEMPUR® Sleep Mask to each senior member of the Australian Rowing Team during this all important year of training and competition.
In addition to these travel products the Australian Rowing Team used and are using a range of TEMPUR® pillows during their competition season in 2016 to improve their quality of sleep. Olympic Gold Medalist Kim Brennan also sleeps on a TEMPUR® mattress.
Rowing Australia, together with the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Paralympic Committee, conducted a piece of important research in 2015 that looked at different seating for rowers, on long haul flights, and what conditions were the most conducive for reducing kinematic lumber spine movement and therefor aiding recovery time. The results showed that the TEMPUR® Car Comforter was superior in minimising loss of flexibility around the spine and pelvis, which are the most significant for rowing related injuries.
