Hear from three-time World Championship winning coach, Gordon Marcks

Rowing Australia’s para-rowers have had great success over the years and this year those attending the 2017 Aon Sydney International Rowing Regatta will have the chance to hear from Para-Rowing Senior Coach, Gordon Marcks, who has overseen our winning program for the last three years.

Marcks, who coached Kathryn Ross and Gavin Bellis to three consecutive World Para-Rowing Championship titles in the Trunk and Arms Mixed Double Sculls, will be talking about a range of topics in regards to para-rowing.

Running from 7am to 8am on Sunday 2 April in the Olympic Room at SIRC, Gordon will be talking about how to run a successful para-rowing program.

“The briefing will cover a variety of things which we hope will help encourage clubs to engage more with para-rowing,” said Gordon.

“Some of the topics to be discussed include inclusion versus exclusion in regards to para-rowing at a club level, athlete involvement and competition as well as useful information on other important partners that can help with the growth of your para-rowing program.

“I’ll also be explaining about what type of coaching support is on offer for those who would be keen to be involved in para-rowing and also about how Athlete Classification works for those who are unsure of what category they may sit under for para-rowing,” added Gordon.
